Maggi brand was founded in 1884, when Swiss entrepreneur Julius Michael Johannes Maggi took over his father’s mill. He had a vision: to make good-tasting and nutritious food accessible to busy, working families. He invented a powdered pea and bean soup, to provide nutritious, easy to prepare food.
In 1886, Julius Maggi launched Maggi seasoning, a concentrated liquid bouillon to form the basis for consommés, soups and sauces.
It developed a following for many reasons, but one of them is completely practical: It's an inexpensive substitute for a meat extract, like a broth or stock.
It was during the Industrial Revolution at that time when women didn’t get time to cook after spending long hours in factories. Julius came up with this solution of providing noodles that were nutritious and filled stomachs within minutes of just boiling it.
In 1897, Julius Maggi founded the company Maggi GmbH in the German town of Singen. In the same year Maggi noodles were first introduced in Germany.

The history of food processing centers on the transformation of raw ingredients into food or various food forms. This tradition can be traced back to ancient times, specifically the prehistoric era, where early processing techniques like roasting, smoking, steaming, fermenting, sun drying, and preserving with salt were utilized. Without a doubt, food processing stands as one of humanity's oldest practices, dating back to time immemorial.
